Jo is the Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Division of Health at the University of Waikato. He is passionate about delivering better and fairer health outcomes in Aotearoa, with a focus on ensuring that university educational programmes are responsive to health workforce needs.
Jo is a vocal advocate for the role of graduate-entry health programmes and has led the establishment of innovative new educational pathways to become a registered midwife and registered pharmacist in Aotearoa. Recently, he has collaborated with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders to develop a business case to establish a graduate-entry medical school at the University of Waikato.
