Hauora Taiwhenua is working in unusual times with COVID moving to be endemic in our communities. There are so many unknowns about how managing COVID in our communities will impact on rural General Practice teams and their ability to attend the planned conference in September 2022. Feedback has been very ‘loud’ that, if possible, there should be a face-to-face conference so that people can get together, laugh, learn and share experiences. Nothing beats meeting in person.
We also realise that for some people getting away to a conference will be nigh on impossible, simply due to community needs. For this reason, the Hauora Taiwhenua Board have decided to provide a virtual option, where all sessions can be viewed live via a virtual conference platform and will be available on demand for all our registered attendees (both in person and virtual) for a period of up to three months after the conference.
In arranging the conference, Hauora Taiwhenua is committing significant resource to make the event happen and we will be doing all we can to provide a safe and exciting programme. There is a small, but not insignificant risk, that the traffic lights (COVID-19 Protection Framework) may change at the time of the conference. This may limit the attendance of some delegates from certain regions, or it might affect the Christchurch region where the conference is being held and lead to the conference content only being offered virtually.
If you have any questions during the registration process please don't hesitate to contact Rachel Cook firstname.lastname@example.org@conference.nz.
