The Mobile Surgical Unit – Te Waka Hauora is the only purpose-built mobile surgical operating theatre in New Zealand and services rural communities providing low-risk elective day surgery. Close to 30,000 patients have been treated since 2002.
2022 marks Mobile Health’s 20th anniversary and we are pleased our sponsorship will support the National Rural Health Conference. We are working towards having the surgical unit onsite for the duration of the event for open days. Mobile Health is proud of its achievements in the last 20 years, and we look forward to exciting projects in the future. We would also like to congratulate Rural New Zealand General Practice Network as they celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Mobile Health also operates My Health Hub (myhealthhub.co.nz), online education offering valuable training and professional development opportunities for rural healthcare professionals. Mobile Health launched the new website to support health professionals and delivers a range of high-quality education sessions via live webinars. The webinars cover a wide range of healthcare topics and are presented by expert speakers.
The Telehealth Resource Centre is a free web-based service providing resources and advice to clinicians and practices looking to implement or expand telehealth services. TRC is funded by the Ministry of Health – Technology and Digital Services, and is led by a leadership group including clinicians, consumers, policymakers, planning and funding managers, ICT experts and industry representatives.
